Places of interest in Delhi, New Delhi and not very far from Delhi
Part of Delhi - built by the British depicting the Anglo-Indian architecture with spacious boulevards and bungalows is known as New Delhi. Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House, India Gate and Connaught Place are the prominent landmarks.
In Connaught Place the buildings are arranged in two concentric circles with radial roads leading outwards, cutting the circular inner roads.
Connaught Place (CP) is Delhi's most popular shopping and business center. At the center of the concentric circle of buildings lies Palika Bazaar - an underground air-conditioned shopper's paradise. Janpath is a well-known street for all kinds of handicrafts, affordable trendy fashion wear and accessories. All major airlines have their ticketing offices in CP. Air France recently shifted their office right under our floor area.
CP is full of Delhi's best eateries. With the common man's dhaba (small restaurant) to expensive air-conditioned restaurants and fast food / ice cream parlors. CP offers a complete range of world cuisine within a walking distance. Plaza, Regal, Odeon and Rivoli are CP's cinema halls screening the best of Hindi and English movies. Sapru House, Kamani Auditorium, Shri Ram Center, Triveni Kala Sangam, Lalit Kala Academy are some of the art and cultural centers offering a variety of performances for lovers of classical dance / music, fine arts and theatre.
